I am a Marine Corps combat veteran and an economist specializing in land use and transportation. My work involves innovative approaches to addressing complex problems with practical and forward-thinking solutions. I have devoted my life to public service through my military service, my career with the federal government, and by volunteering my expertise on housing issues and assisting communities affected by natural disasters. I am also an avid hiker and enjoy any opportunity to spend time in nature.

Helping those who are most vulnerable is very important to me. From an early age, I experienced people struggling to provide for their families. I grew up in a small, economically challenged town just outside Hartford, Connecticut. My mother was a single parent raising three children on a cashier's wage. We often had to move when rents increased. I will never forget how good people, working hard and doing everything they could, still faced immense hardships. Fortunately, my aunt and uncle took me in from a very difficult situation and offered me opportunities to improve my life.

I aspire to be part of something larger than myself, both in the past and present. Our nation and city are remarkable due to the sacrifices of those who have dedicated their time and lives to a cause greater than themselves. Now, it's my turn. After finishing high school, inspired by the events of 9/11, I joined the United States Marine Corps infantry. During my six years of service as a non-commissioned officer, I was deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan for combat operations. I developed leadership skills under challenging conditions, including being injured in combat by an improvised explosive device during a patrol. My commitment to serving a cause greater than myself drives me to give back to my community. However, patriotism isn't limited to those in uniform or first responders; we all have a duty to enhance our communities and our city.

After relocating to Salem post-military service in 2016, my commitment to serving both my country and community continues to be strong, and I strive to inspire others. After leaving the military, I sought opportunities to assist those in need. This includes volunteering at soup kitchens and deploying to communities affected by natural disasters, such as Colorado, which experienced severe flooding and wildfires, and the Bahamas, which suffered from hurricanes Maria and Irma. Wanting to contribute more, I pursued bachelor’s degrees in both Political Science and Economics at Colorado State University, as well as a master's degree in public administration at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

Currently, I work as an economist for the federal government, specializing in land use and economic development. I am proud to call Salem home. I aim to apply my personal experiences and education to improve Ward 3 and the City. It is our collective duty to care for my neighbors, and I hope you will support me in spearheading this initiative.
